Wifi Problems with the MacBook Pro
I recently switched to using a laptop as my main workstation. The main reason for the switch being that the laptop (a MacBook Pro) has better specs then the iMac I was using before. After acquiring an external monitor (an Apple one of course), I noticed my wireless speeds had dropped significantly, and often lost a signal all together. Before this, I was able to use the laptop with wifi just fine, so why all of a sudden had it gone haywire?
It turns out having the lid closed on an MBP blocks the wifi signal. Even though the signal read full strength, downloads often ran at speeds of 0.3kb/s, not to mention the signal dropping as mentioned before. The solution was simply to always run it with the lid open. I can’t complain, it’s just like having duel displays.

It's like having duel monitors because it is having duel monitors.

I've never had duel monitors before, so I don't know what it truly feels like. But, if what you say is true, then I like it.
